I’ve been meaning to pick up a slim/compact digital camera so I went down to the Courts Mega Massive Sale earlier this evening – the Courts Megastore @ Tampines.
I picked up a leaflet at a roadshow at J8 the previous day. I was eyeing a Canon Ixus camera:

J8 Roadshow price: $399
Free gifts: 8gb sd card, casing
Courts Mega Sale price: $399 (list), $379 (after asking salesperson)
Free gifts: 8gb sd card (x2), casing
So yeah, the prices are pretty competitive, and there were more free gifts.
What was amusing though, was seeing this sign:

Holy cow! Double your refunds! I bet they limit it at like … one claim per customer. Of course, do not forget, they do have a refund policy. Within 7 days I think.

This camera came with a free tripod, 8gb microSD card, extra battery, case, cleaning kit, and when I asked what memory card the camera originally came with, (none apparently, however weird that sounds), the promotor took a 2gb xD card off the rack (listed at $38), and threw that in.
Yeah, I left with a Olympus Digital Camera instead of a Canon, priced at $298 … and a small oven, pillow, and phone for the house. (So much for restrain huh?)
Oh and btw, while at the store, do sign up for a Courts Home club. It’s currently free till the mid-May, as part of their anniversary celebration. (previously you’ve to make a min purchase of $300). Check site for perks.
Sale ends Sunday (3rd May) 10pm.
